About
I am a second-year Master's student in the Media Studies program at Syracuse University. My primary interest is science communication and literacy, particularly the effect that news coverage and pop culture have on audience perceptions of science. I am also interested in science and technology studies, health communication, and media health law.
My secondary research interests include cultural significance of the superhero narrative, diversity issues, and portrayals of sexuality.
I am Dr. Fiona Chew's research assistant as well as the media TA for Stem Cells and Society, an experimental-format class at Syracuse that combines the expertise of professors of biology, philosophy, and media.
In addition to my studies, I keep a blog about weird science and bridging the gap between science and popular culture (I call it "nerd studies"). My hobbies are racquetball, sketching, and trying to breed the perfect Pandora station.
